From 1938-1942, and then from 1950 to the present, the NFL has played an all-star game at the end of each season. The AFL IV also played an all-star game from 1961-1969. Summaries of each of these games are available at an out of print site provided by Mark Golding.
The Pro Bowl.
The AAFC played one All-Star game, after the 1949 Championship Game. It was played at Rice University Stadium, Houston on Dec. 17, 1949.
